Pluto is such a misunderstood planet. I can remember growing up in the era of “Mork & Mindy,” and I would get very confused whenever I heard Mork say “Don’t ever go to Pluto, it’s a Mickey Mouse planet.” Huh? What?
But I get it now. Pluto IS a Mickey Mouse planet, in that some people don’t take it any more seriously than they would a cartoon. It was even downgraded to a “dwarf planet” in astronomy in 2006. But in Astrology, Pluto remains a strong planetary player.
Pluto should be taken seriously. It’s tiny, but powerful, and it’s going retrograde in hardworking Capricorn for five months starting April 14, 2014.
Pluto goes retrograde every year, so it’s not groundbreaking in that sense. But you should know that when Pluto is retrograde in Capricorn it will put us in a more reflective state of mind that forces us to confront our own dark sides.
This will be a period of personal reckoning intended to lead to self-improvement — after all, we can’t fix the things about ourselves we don’t like until we take a closer look at them, right?
Pluto means business, and there’s nothing Goofy about that.

Watch your mouths today, friends! Communication planet Mercury is heading into fiery Aries from April 7-23, 2014, and it’s quite possible that we’ll be thinking and speaking so fast during this time that we’ll make a few flubs.
Mercury in Aries is an impulsive transit that is great for opening the lines of communication and giving us the encouragement we need to say exactly what we think and feel. But at the same time we may find ourselves lacking some sensitivity.
It’s important to think before you speak or act, be tolerant of others and try to practice patience now — it won’t be easy. But it will be exciting!
Mercury is the planet of “think” and Aries is the sign of “do,” so when these two crazy kids meet up it should result in a brainstorm of brilliant and innovative ideas you can put into action immediately.
Enjoy the adventure!

Happy Astrological New Year! The Sun moved into aries on March 20, signaling the arrival of spring and a new cycle of the zodiac. In other words, life officially begins again!
Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, so Astrological New Year marks the start of a new life cycle. You should be feeling energized and ready to make a bold move, as we all are at this time of year.
In fact, Aries is the most fearless sign of the zodiac. They’re the ones who are always charging ahead, leading the pack, exploring unknown territory and doing exciting things.
All of us will adapt some of this Aries personality during Aries season, so don’t expect any dull moments in the coming month.
Of course, Aries is also the sign represented by the Ram, and that’s because they have a tendency to trample right over other people in all their enthusiasm.
Most of us will also adapt some of this recklessness now, so try to be extra careful with what you say and do now so no one gets hurt (including you!)
I really feel this “New Year” energy — even more than I do at the start of a new calendar year, because the Sun is shining and new things are growing. It’s our chance for growth now, too, so get on out there and celebrate spring!

Spring officially arrives on Thursday, March 20, 2014, and I am sooooooooo ready for it. The Spring Equinox happens when the Sun moves into Aries, kicking off the Astrological New Year and all kinds of new beginnings.
At Spring Equinox the day and night will be at equal length, which represents balance and harmony in the world. Then, we have a chance to make a fresh start as the days grow longer and our energy returns.
This sounds pretty cliché, right? But it’s true! I can feel my own energy returning already. This was a long, cold winter fraught with upsets for so many people I know, and it was capped off by an ultra-confusing Mercury Retrograde AND Mars Retrograde is still in effect.
But guess what — at least winter is over!
Mercury is direct, the Sun is shining — even here where I live in the perpetually rainy Northwest — and spring has arrived! It’s time for a mental rebirth and I’m going to use all this positive energy to get happier and healthier.
What are YOU going to do?
