Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills
Josh Allen is widely recognized as one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. He was drafted by Buffalo in the first round of the 2018 NFL draft after his college career at Wyoming. In only 8 seasons, Josh has already become the career leader in rushing touchdowns by a quarterback. In his second season, he led the Bills to their first AFC East title and first playoff victory since 1995. Josh has guided the Bills to the playoffs for 7 straight seasons, including two trips to the AFC Championship game. He has thrown for over 30,000 career yards and 220 touchdowns, in addition to 79 rushing touchdowns.
Allen grew up in a Christian home, but he has described a "spiritual awakening" that took place after his teammate, Damar Hamlin, suffered a cardiac arrest on the field during a game against Cincinnati. He has acknowledged the role of his former coach, Sean McDermott, in leading the team following Hamlin's cardiac arrest. Earlier this year, Josh stated: "I'll be the first to admit, I haven't been the most devoted Christ-follower in my life…but something got a hold of me there and it was extremely powerful, that, you know, I couldn't deny it."
