Jayden Daniels burst on the scene as a rookie with Washington a year after winning the Heisman Trophy at LSU. He helped lead Washington to a 12-5 record in his rookie year (2024 season), the team's best record since 1991. Unfortunately, his 2025 season was marred by injuries; he missed ten games due to three different injuries. As a result, the Commanders finished with a 5-12 record and missed the playoffs.

 

Jayden has stated that he renewed his commitment to Christ during his tenure at LSU, after transferring from Arizona State. He acknowledged and thanked God during his acceptance speech for the Heisman Trophy: "I want to first give thanks to God for all the glory. He's my rock. He's my Savior. He blessed me with the talents and ability to be here." Through the highs and lows of his first two seasons, he has continued to credit God and rely on him.
