Trevor Lawrence joined the Jacksonville Jaguars as the number 1 pick in the 2021 NFL draft following a standout career at Clemson. While a freshman at Clemson, he helped lead the Tigers to the NCAA football championship. Jacksonville struggled during its first four seasons, finishing with a winning record only once. However, last season saw a big turnaround, with the Jaguars finishing 13-4 before losing to Buffalo 27-24 in the playoffs.

 

Although Lawrence grew up in a religious family, he has stated that he recommitted his life to Christ during his college years and was baptized. He frequently notes that his faith in Christ is at the center of his life, and that he does not find his identity in football, but in faith. Trevor has also stated that he sees his achievements and fame as opportunities to share his faith and let Christ's light shine through him. "I wouldn't be who I am if it wasn't for my faith or my relationship with Jesus. It's the biggest thing in my life. I know the peace that it's given me, especially in this crazy job that we have."
