Shut It Off
When you’re on the job, you need to keep your mind active. But what about when you’re off the job? That’s when you need to let go of the day’s preoccupations. When you find yourself playing reruns of the day’s events or anticipating the worries of tomorrow, say “Stop.” Take a deep breath, put it aside, and come back to it with a clear head.
Of course, that’s often more easily said than done — if you're tossing and turning and unable to slow down your thoughts, consider talking to someone — whether it is a health professional or your best friend, vocalizing your concerns will help alleviate them.
