Helping God Out in Times of Trouble

God is focused on who we are versus what we do. It’s not that He doesn’t care about our doing; it’s simply that out of our being comes doing. We are more prone toward activity and doing. God is more concerned with our being a person who is pleasing to Him. This requires that we seek Him and His ways -- which often translates into waiting on Him for His agenda. Our plan typically differs from God’s. It is a big mistake to redefine God as a genie who exists to grant our every whim -- or to help us achieve our personal goals. God’s ways are not man’s ways! We must not get ahead of God; we must seek and stay on His agenda. That's the key to true happiness.

God’s Peace vs. The World’s Peace

It may be that we, unfortunately, react much like the world and fail to reflect the peace that God gives during such times. In Philippians 4:6-7 we are instructed, “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank Him for all He has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live Christlike.”

Remember, He loves you. He is looking out for you. Talk to Him. Get to know Him -- even if you are feeling terrible disappointment ... or perhaps especially if you are feeling terrible disappointment!
