The Hemorrhaging Woman

As Jesus walked through a crowded street, a desperate woman reached out to touch Him. This woman had been hemorrhaging for twelve years and had spent all her money on doctors to no avail. She was immediately healed, but the story continues. Jesus stops and demands to know who touched Him. The woman, realizing that he was talking about her, nervously approaches and confesses why she touched his garment. “And He said to her, ‘Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace.’” In the gospels, Jesus repeatedly commends people He encounters who demonstrate great faith. Although we cannot physically touch Jesus as this anonymous woman did, we still must have faith that He hears our prayers and answers them in the way that is best for us.
