Not a Magic Lamp
There is nothing guaranteed about praying for 100 days, but as Snyder says, our "Father in heaven gives good gifts to those who ask him." (Matthew 7:11).
So, how should you start? In his book, Snyder starts at the beginning …
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters (Genesis 1:1-2).
“Sometimes the imagery used in the Bible tells us more than the words themselves,” says Snyder. “The very first two verses of Genesis are a perfect example of this.
"As God began to create the world we live in, the Hebrew writer portrayed the Spirit of God as 'hovering over' the unformed and unruly mass, much like a mother bird fluttering over her brood. The picture here is the very careful and loving attention God gives to his creation -- protecting, shaping, and guiding its development. In other words, there's no room for chance or randomness. Everything is under his control.”
