Alison Arngrim
Alison Arngrim played Nellie Oleson, the spoiled daughter of Walnut Grove's mercantile owners and Laura Ingalls' unforgettable rival on Little House on the Prairie.
Arngrim was just 12 years old when she joined the series. Despite playing bitter enemies on screen, she and Melissa Gilbert became close friends behind the scenes.
"It's so completely bonkers," Arngrim said during the show's 50th anniversary reunion, according to People. "Here's Melissa Gilbert and I playing mortal enemies, beating each other senseless all week. And then on the weekends, we'd go to each other's house for a slumber party, and we were hanging out."
Arngrim later embraced her iconic role by writing the memoir Confessions of a Prairie Bitch: How I Survived Nellie Oleson and Learned to Love Being Hated. She also adapted the book into a successful one-woman stage show, Confessions of a Prairie Bitch.
In 2002, she received the Young Artist Former Child Star Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of her work on Little House on the Prairie.
Beyond Little House, Arngrim has appeared on television series including Fantasy Island and The Love Boat, as well as the TV movie Life Interrupted. She also recently made a cameo appearance in the new Little House reboot.
