Anyone who follows baseball at all knows who Aaron
Judge is. He has been the face of the Yankees team
almost since he arrived in the big leagues in 2016. He won the Rookie
of the Year award in 2017 unanimously and finished second in the MVP
voting that year. He won his first MVP award in 2022 while breaking
the American League record for home runs in a season, with 62.
Following that season, he signed a 9-year contract with the Yankees
and was named team captain, the first since Derek Jeter's retirement
after the 2014 season. He has won a total of 3 American League MVP
awards, including the last two.
Judge is open about his faith in Christ, stating that his
relationship with God is more fulfilling than all his accomplishments
on the field. For last summer's All-Star game, Judge used
a bat that had the reference for 2
Corinthians 5:7 engraved on it ("For we live by
faith, not by sight"). His profile on X (formerly Twitter)
states: "Christian, Faith, Family, then Baseball."
