George Springer and Vladimir Guerrero, Toronto Blue Jays
In addition to Bo Bichette (see above), George Springer and Vladimir Guerrero played critical roles in the Blue Jays' American League pennant last season. And, like Bichette, both Springer and Guerrero are followers of Jesus Christ. After winning the pennant, Guerrero stated: "I went to my knees, and I said to God, 'If it's something for us, I'm going to give You the glory. If not, I'm going to give You the glory no matter what." Previously, Guerrero had described his relationship with Jesus as "everything."
He also said, "I read the Bible before every game, when I wake up. I pray and read the Bible before bed." For his part, Springer has participated in Christian events like Faith and Family Night, even when playing for Houston before his time in Toronto.
