Al Horford is a five-time NBA All-Star who comes from a family of pro basketball players. They include his father, Tito, the first Dominican-born NBA player; his uncle, Kelly; and his brother, Jon. But basketball isn't the focal point of Al Horford's life.

Rather, he is a devout Christian who says his purpose in life is to glorify God. He does so by helping his neighbors, as Christ defines "neighbors" in the Bible.

Horford has donated to relief efforts in Japan and other areas affected by the 2011 tsunami, and has also provided funds for COVID-19 relief, among other things.
