Alex Ferreira: Freestyle Skiing
With numerous awards to his credit, Alex Ferreira is one of the greatest halfpipe skiers in history. Notably, he is the first halfpipe skier to have a perfect season. Halfpipe skiers perform complex maneuvers along a U-shaped course and are judged on airtime, difficulty, amplitude, jumps, spins and other complex moves.
He is a two-time Olympic medalist who has finished first, second, or third in 16 World Cup events and has won seven X Games medals. Ferreira won every competition he entered in 2023-2024 and hopes to win gold in the 2026 Winter Olympics.
In an interview with Fox News, Ferreira said, "I've grown up as a Catholic. I was at first communion and had confirmation," he said. "I'm religious in the way in believing in the universe and doing everything in your power to put yourself in luck's way and be a good person and ultimately follow the golden rule, 'Do unto others how you want to be treated.'
