Nick Goepper: Freestyle Skiing
Nick Goepper has been a competitive skier since age 11 and has performed double back flips since age 13. He comes to the 2026 Winter Olympics in search of gold after winning bronze and two silver medals in slopestyle skiing at earlier Olympics. He is known for pioneering the "Bone Air 900," which involves grabbing and crossing the skis mid-air, and the "Switch Double Misty 1260," which features a backwards takeoff, two-and-a-half flips, two full rotations and a backward landing.
He performed the Bone Air 900 to win his first halfpipe World Cup in December 2024.
Goepper said he has always attended church, and it's part of his life and athletic career. He wears a cross on his goggles during competitions as a reminder that God is with him. He has said that being on the world stage at the Olympics and X Games gives him opportunities to share his faith, beliefs and values.
