Before Nick Jonas became a pop star, he was also a pastor’s kid.
Nick, Joe, and Kevin Jonas grew up in a Christian home with parents who were very involved in ministry. Their father, Paul Kevin Jonas Sr., was an ordained minister, musician, and worship leader, and their mother, Denise, was also active in Christian ministry and music.
That upbringing helped shape Nick’s career. He started performing as a child and recorded Christian music before the Jonas Brothers became Disney Channel stars. As their fame grew, their Christian background became part of their public image, especially through their well-known choice to wear purity rings.
Nick has since talked more openly about the attention those rings got and how his understanding of faith changed as he got older.
Nick’s life today is very different from his childhood, but those early years were important in his story. Before the Jonas Brothers became famous, church was one of the first places where Nick discovered his love for music and performing.
