Few celebrity lifestyles offer a bigger contrast than Gwen Stefani’s Southern California roots and her family life with Blake Shelton in Oklahoma.
The couple, who married in 2021, share a home in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, where they live part time with Stefani’s three sons, Kingston, Zuma and Apollo. For Stefani, spending time there introduced her to a world far removed from Los Angeles.
“Going to Oklahoma and just being introduced to a whole world I didn’t know about,” Stefani told People. Despite admitting she wasn’t much of a “dirt person” or “bug person,” she quickly came to appreciate the outdoors. “It’s so beautiful [in Oklahoma], and you kind of feel like you’re going into this vortex. I guess it’s just nature and God is all right there.”
Stefani has also embraced Shelton’s love of gardening and working outdoors, planting sunflowers, zinnias and dahlias herself. “When we get to Oklahoma, we’re constantly working — and it’s a different kind of work,” she said.
The family still maintains ties outside Oklahoma, but their time there has given Stefani and her sons a very different experience from life in California — one centered more on nature, open space and time together.
