Third Day’s song “Cry Out To Jesus”, is one of the bands most popular songs. It was released after the horrible events of hurricane Katrina. It is a reminder to the world that no matter what happens everyone can cry out to the Lord for help.  The song also reminds people that God is always there even during trials. The lyrics are as follows:
1st verse: “To everyone who’s lost someone they love. Long before it was their time. You feel like the days you had were not enough. When you said goodbye. And to all of the people with burdens and pains. Keeping you back from your life. You believe that there’s nothing and there is no one. Who can make it right. There is hope for the helpless. Cry out to Jesus.” This verse describes what it’s like to lose a loved one as well as what it is like to live with a chronic illness or tough times that they are trying to get through. It reminds you that the Lord is always there to answer your call for help in tough times.

2nd Verse: “For the marriage that’s struggling just to hang on. They’ve lost all of their faith in love. And they’ve done all they can to make it right again, still it’s not enough. For the ones who can’t break the addictions and chains. You try to give up but you come back again. Just remember that you’re not alone in your shame. And your suffering. Cry out to Jesus.” This verse describes what it is like to be going through a marriage crisis and maybe on the verge of divorce. Sometimes people lose their love in one another and the marriage falls off the wayside. This verse also talks about having addictions and other things that people may be going through and to remember that you are never alone in the shame and suffering you may be going through.
Bridge: “When you’re lonely. And it feels like the entire world is falling on you. You just reach out, you just cry out to Jesus. Cry to Jesus.  Whenever you feel as though the entire world can be falling on your shoulders at times. Life gets hard but you have the ultimate comeback to struggles- prayer. You can always call on the Lord through prayer. He is always with you through anything you may face in your life. There is nothing that God doesn’t already have a way out prepared for you out of every tricky situation.”

This verse describes the hardships that people in developing countries and the widows of the world face. So many people are widows and the children around the world are often left homeless and left alone, abandoned and without families. They deserve our prayers and support. Once we see what is going on behind the scenes in the developing countries then we get a sense of how blessed we are in our lives and in the country, we live in. The things we were once complaining about only seem miniscule, compared to what others in developing countries are going through. We often don’t realize how much we have until we see others in poverty in developing countries.   Once we take the time to realize what others including the widows and anyone else in the world, may be going through, we can become more compassionate and lead others to know the greatness of Christ’s love. We can cry out to Jesus and be there for others who need it. We can help out others who are going through hard times by directing them to this song. This song can be an inspiration and help to many. Jesus is the only reason any of us are alive and well. May He bring you peace and comfort through all your tough times.
