Vice President JD Vance and Second Lady Usha Vance are celebrating a joyful new chapter after welcoming their fourth child, a baby boy named Alec Neel Vance.

The couple announced the happy news on Sunday in a joint Instagram post, revealing that their son was born earlier that morning.

“We are excited to announce that our baby boy, Alec Neel Vance, was born this morning,” they wrote. “Usha and the baby are happy and healthy, and our kids are overjoyed to meet their little brother.”

Alec joins the couple’s three older children—sons Ewan and Vivek and daughter Mirabel—who, according to the Vances, couldn’t be more excited to welcome the newest member of the family.

President Donald Trump also offered his congratulations, sharing a photo of the newborn on Truth Social.

“Congratulations! A perfect baby boy for the wonderful Vance family,” Trump wrote.

The Vances took time in their announcement to express gratitude to the medical professionals who cared for Usha and their son during the delivery.

“The incredible military doctors and staff members of Walter Reed Medical Center and the White House Medical Unit have been a blessing,” the couple said. “We are deeply thankful for all they have done for our family.”

The birth came several months after the Vances announced they were expecting their fourth child. In a statement shared on social media in January, they wrote, “Usha and the baby are doing well, and we are all looking forward to welcoming him in late July.”

JD and Usha Vance have been married since 2014 after meeting while attending Yale Law School. Over the years, they have often emphasized the importance of family life, balancing public service with raising their children. Their three oldest children also captured national attention during last year’s inauguration events, appearing alongside their parents during the swearing-in ceremony at the U.S. Capitol and later at the inaugural parade in Washington, D.C.
