For more than three decades, Willie and Korie Robertson have built far more than a successful television brand. Together, the “Duck Dynasty” stars have raised six children, grown a thriving business, and become two of the most recognizable voices for faith and family in America. According to the couple, however, the real foundation of their lasting marriage isn’t fame or success—it’s their shared commitment to Jesus Christ.

Speaking with Fox News Digital, Willie and Korie opened up about the faith-centered principles that have guided their relationship since they married in 1992, explaining that their Christian beliefs shape every part of their lives.

“I think Korie and I pull back to our faith, which is very important,” Willie said. “We believe in something bigger than us.”

He pointed to the fruits of the Spirit as the values that continually strengthen their marriage.

“The aspects of it are love and joy and peace and patience, kindness… Gentleness. I mean, all these things are that’s the core of our faith,” Willie said. “And so those are the things that we try to implement. Not just with everybody else in our life, but we implemented that in our marriage as well. And we try to treat each other like that as well.”

Willie acknowledged that every marriage faces challenges, but he believes many problems can be prevented by intentionally applying biblical wisdom before small disagreements become lasting divisions.

“Those are the things we do — things we’ve learned from our faith,” he explained. “Not going to bed while you’re angry. I mean, these are just things that you put into your life and say, ‘Oh, this is helpful.'”

The couple has also learned from watching both healthy and unhealthy relationships over the years.

“We’ve had great examples of that in our families,” Willie said, adding that they have also witnessed marriages fall apart because unresolved conflict was allowed to grow. Those experiences reinforced the importance of patience, grace, and forgiveness in their own relationship.

For Korie, faith isn’t simply something reserved for Sunday mornings.

“I would say our faith informs everything we do,” she said. “It’s not just like what we do on Sunday morning at church or whatever. It’s how we parent, how we are as husband and wife, how we’re as coworkers and all that. So it informs everything.”

That shared sense of purpose has also inspired the couple’s newest project, EKKL Entertainment, a faith-and-family media platform designed to provide trusted entertainment, children’s programming, podcasts, movies, television shows, and daily devotionals.

“I think it’s exciting to be on a mission together,” Korie said. “We are, as a family, we are on our mission together to spread the love of Jesus and let people know about him.”

The idea for EKKL grew out of watching their grandchildren absorb the messages found in today’s entertainment. The Robertsons said they wanted to create a place where families could confidently find content that aligns with their values.

“It is definitely part of us coming in to try to help solve a problem that I think all families are having right now,” Korie explained. “What is the safe space for our kids to consume entertainment?”

Though Willie and Korie grew up in the same Louisiana community, their childhoods looked very different. Korie came from a business-oriented family, while Willie recalls growing up “really poor on the end of a dead-end dirt road.” Yet those differences ultimately became one of their greatest strengths.

Willie credits Korie’s business background with helping build their family enterprises, while Korie appreciates the practical skills Willie brings to every situation. During Louisiana’s devastating ice storm earlier this year, those complementary strengths were on full display.

“When the ice storm happened, and we had no electricity, we needed him to help us survive,” Korie joked.

“And I could read the contracts,” she added with a laugh, referring to navigating insurance claims while Willie focused on keeping the family fed and safe.

The Robertsons believe those different perspectives have eliminated many blind spots in both marriage and business.

As they continue expanding their ministry through entertainment, Willie says he remains convinced that audiences are hungry for stories rooted in faith and family.

“I think when you’re talking about faith, and you’re a family—those are things that bring us back together,” he said.

After 34 years of marriage, the Robertsons’ message remains remarkably simple: lasting relationships aren’t built on perfection but on daily choosing love, patience, forgiveness, and a shared commitment to putting Christ at the center of everything.
