Russell Westbrook and his wife, Nina Earl, recently proved that true love only grows stronger with time. Nearly a decade after first saying “I do,” the couple renewed their vows in a breathtaking ceremony aboard a flower-adorned boat in Portofino, Italy. Surrounded by close family, friends, and their three children—Noah, Skye, and Jordyn—the Westbrooks celebrated their lasting commitment in a setting that looked like something straight out of a fairy tale.

The scene was intimate yet grand. String musicians played as flowers surrounded the altar and the sparkling Italian coastline served as a perfect backdrop. Westbrook and Earl poured out heartfelt vows, marking not just their years of marriage but also their journey as partners and parents. Photos captured them in coordinated white looks—Westbrook in a shirtless blazer and Nina in a stunning dress paired with a diamond ring.

The NBA superstar and his wife first married at the Beverly Hills Hotel in August 2015. But this renewal felt like a celebration of all they’ve built since then. As one report put it, the couple “held a vow renewal ceremony amid the getaway … and footage and pics of the event show them getting emotional as they professed their continued love for each other.”

For Westbrook, marriage has always been rooted in the example set by his own parents. During an appearance on Nina’s Do Tell Relationship podcast, he reflected, “I think that’s one of the biggest things that I was able to see growing up and mom working, dad working, kind of working through our schedule. Every time there was a sporting event for myself and my brother, they both were there. Going to practice, we went together. My dad [worked] different shifts, [but] we ate together.”

He added that his father’s love for his mother became a model for his own marriage: “It allowed me to kind of get like a base of, Okay, this is what I should be aspired to kind of look at in a relationship.”

The couple’s story began at UCLA, where both were standout athletes—Nina on the women’s basketball team and Russell on the men’s team before launching into his NBA career. Despite the pressures of fame, Westbrook has never been shy about praising Nina’s role in holding their family together. “She’s been holding s— down from start to finish,” he told People in 2022. “Now been able to see her grow into the things that she’s been wanting to do while still supporting me and doing stuff with the kids, and doing this and doing that. I’m just grateful to have a partner able to do all that sacrifice. Now we’re here.”

That gratitude was on full display in Portofino as the couple renewed their vows. With emotions running high and love clearly at the center of their story, Russell and Nina showed that marriage is not just about one day—it’s about a lifetime of choosing each other again and again.

Their vow renewal wasn’t just a celebration of the past ten years. It was also a promise of the years ahead, built on faith, family, and a love that continues to deepen with time.
