Patrick Mahomes is a two-time NFL MVP, two-time Super Bowl champion, five-time Pro Bowler, and a two-time All-Pro. He’s also a father of two with his high school sweetheart, Brittany. So, who does he owe some of his success to? He gave the correct answer in a recent People Magazine interview.

Mahomes told the magazine at the premiere of “Quarterback,” his Netflix documentary, “I have a great wife. I think that helps out a ton. She helps me out a ton by taking stuff off my plate.” He added, “I have great people around me, and I can be Patrick Mahomes.”

However, Brittany credited her husband for having an excellent work-life balance, adding that he’s “the best father ever.” She said, “He has a soft spot, but I think he’s done such an amazing job at balancing his work life and his at-home life, and I think he’s really switched around his priorities and figured it out.”

Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Matthews have a love story that’s fit for a movie. The high school sweethearts first met when they were teenagers, and the pair managed to make a long-distance relationship work while excelling in their collegiate careers before becoming professional athletes.

Mahomes is the quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs, while Matthews previously competed internationally as a pro soccer player in Iceland. Despite their numerous accomplishments, their pride and joy are their children. The couple welcomed their first child, Sterling Skye, in February 2021. One year later, the couple tied the knot in Maui, Hawaii, during a picturesque ceremony, where Sterling served as the pair’s adorable flower girl.

In May 2022, Mahomes and Matthews shared that they would soon be a family of four. “Round 2!” the pair captioned a trio of pictures announcing they were expecting their second child. The couple welcomed their son, Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III, on Nov. 28, 2022.

On Feb. 12, 2023, Mahomes, Matthews and their kids celebrated another huge milestone — the Chiefs 2023 Super Bowl victory. Matthews joined her husband on the field after the game, where she and Sterling were photographed celebrating with the quarterback as confetti fell around them.

Mahomes is entering the 2023 NFL season with more expectations to bring the Chiefs another Super Bowl title. Last year, he led the league with 5,250 passing yards and 41 touchdown passes on his way to his second MVP.
