Even if you have been hiding under a rock for the last six months, you probably still know that tomorrow (November 2nd) is Election Day in the United States. Today I’m going to tell you what I’m seeing happen astrologically, without mentioning either candidate. There’s a reason for that, and there’s a reason I’m not jumping up and down to declare a winner, and by the end of this blog entry you’ll know exactly why I won’t be discussing politics at all on my personal Facebook page until at least December First.

(Wondering what the next few months hold in store for you? Write me with your date, time, and place of birth — and I’ll send you a free sneak preview!)

There is some debate over which birth chart to use for the United States of America. However the most commonly used one, and the one that seems to work the best by my observations, is the so-called Sibly chart. This has America’s time of birth as 5:10 PM in Philadelphia, giving America Sagittarius rising. Again, there’s some controversy around that time, but the majority of charts out there give America either Scorpio or Sagittarius rising.

Even without knowing America’s time of birth for sure, we all know about July 4th, 1776. On that day, Mars was at 21° Gemini, and Neptune was square that at 22° Virgo. If you want to think that this indicates that “America glorifies violence more than it should,” or maybe “sometimes gets involved in the wrong wars for the wrong reason,” I leave that to you.

At the beginning of Election Day, Mercury is still retrograde, and is still square Saturn in Capricorn. This is a recipe for Mercury-related things to go haywire. Things like “waiting your place in line” and “finding your name on a list of registered voters” and “counting ballots.” So right off the bat, there’s a warning that things could go at least a little haywire.

On Election Day, America is having its Neptune opposition, as it has been having for at least a couple of years now. The first Neptune opposition only kicks in around the age of 82 for the average person, so there’s not a whole lot of material to work with here. However, you may have noticed that not all 82-year-olds engage in perfectly sound judgment.

Further complicating things on Election Day (specifically at 12:01 AM eastern Time, November 4th — when polls close on the West Coast and TV networks often start calling the winner) is that the transiting Moon is conjunct the North Node at 21° Gemini. This is closely conjunct America’s natal Mars, and square its Neptune. Take the potential confusion that comes from the Neptune opposition, then double down on short tempers and moodiness. Add in the fact that America is starting its Pluto Return, with transiting Saturn conjunct America’s Pluto, and that transiting Mars is square America’s Sun, and yeah… I’m worried.

Things do not get any clearer when we look at December 14th. That’s when the all-important electoral college votes are supposed to be officially submitted. It also happens to be the day of a Solar Eclipse at 23° Sagittarius. and yes, once again this is closely aspecting America’s Mars and Neptune. More anger, more confusion?

And, while we’re at it? on Inauguration Day, specifically at Noon Eastern Time when the previous Presidential term expires? The Moon is Void of Course.

I’ve looked at the transits to both major candidates, and I believe I am seeing a slight edge for one of them. I’m not making any loud public pronouncements about it though. There are three reasons for that. One is the complicated astrology happening on Election Day and on the other dates I mentioned. Remember 2016, when one candidate won the popular vote by three million votes but the other candidate actually won? Remember 2000 when it took nearly a month and a Supreme Court decision to decide who won? The transits for this election are similarly confusing.

Second: you know how when a poll says “Candidate X is leading by three percent, within a margin of error of five percent”? That’s what the transits for both candidates look like to me, and I strongly suspect that most astrologers who got the 2016 Election right or wrong did so based in part on personal bias. And yes: the November 2016 transits were hard to figure out too.

Mainly though, I’m deeply concerned about the results for America and what may follow on. That’s why after today, until at least December, I won’t be discussing US politics on my personal Facebook page, or in my Facebook group. I’m afraid there are going to be entirely too many people dancing on too many graves after the election, literally or figuratively, rightly or wrongly. I’m not going to contribute to that no matter who wins or loses.

Y’all better start learning how to play along with people who disagree with you, America. Otherwise things could end up getting much uglier for you than they are already.
