SA writes: I’ve read your post about Chiron, and I thought my Chiron doesn’t make sense in my chart. But then I looked up the aspects it makes, and I can’t figure it out how many T-squares my Chiron makes , one or two. Could you help me figure it out? Also have you ever seen a worse aspected Chiron in your life? Any advice on Chiron in general?

First, allow me to clear a couple of things up. The copy of your chart you sent me originally was produced on a very popular and useful website, but one that (for my tastes) allows entirely too much orb with the aspects. It seems to be registering your Saturn-Uranus conjunction as being opposite to your Chiron, does producing the appearance of t squares. But to be honest with you, 7 or 8 degrees of orb is too much for me, especially when Chiron is involved.

So it seems we needn’t worry about the T-square situation in your chart… at least as far as Chiron is concerned. Nonetheless, your Chiron has a very interesting story to tell.

Let’s take a step back and look at the fundamentals of your birth chart. The Sun is obviously important, and there is a good argument to be made for the Moon being just as important. Sun in Aries conjunct the Midheaven is obviously a very strong placement. But you may have noticed that, other than the sextile to your Chiron, there’s not really much going on as far as aspects to your Sun goes. That makes its function a bit of a wild card. Whether for good or bad, there is very little holding it back.

Now have a look at your Moon. It’s in Pisces, conjunct the North Node. Moon in Pisces has earned a reputation for being incredibly emotionally sensitive. Furthermore, since your Moon is conjunct the North Node, there is a good case to be made here that part of your life purpose here is to dive deeply into your emotional needs and your connections to others.

And now this is where the T-square becomes a factor. Notice the Chiron in your birth chart is square your Moon and your Nodes. The standard issue advice as to how a person should deal with a T-square is the focus on the so-called “empty leg.” That sounds all fine and well, but what does that mean in practical terms? In your case, does it mean be “more of a Sagittarius”? And what does that even mean?

Here is my take on the matter: if the Moon represents your emotional needs, and Chiron represents wounding, does this mean that it is simply much easier for you to play into your “Sun functions,” where you coming more or less cut loose and achieve some goals — at the expense of neglecting your emotional needs?

Now let’s dig a little deeper. There is a Grand Cross in your birth chart hiding in plain sight. You have a Jupiter Pluto opposition, squaring the ascendant-descendant axis. This strongly implies difficulties with long-term, committed relationships. Jupiter, after all, is the ruler of your 5th house. If we allow enough orb to make your Mars in Aquarius part of the picture, the situation gets tougher. Since I use Whole Sign Houses, I count your Mars as being in the 7th House. This again implies things not going smoothly with your long-term relationships.

Chiron (even without T-squares) is a prominent player in your chart, and it can be argued that it is most strongly affecting your closest relationships in life. I don’t know you personally, other than in the Facebook sense. I know that you know your astrology and I have a rough idea of your hobbies and interests. But, personal life and relationships? I’m not seeing it there. Maybe you just like to keep that thing close to your vest, but I suspect there is a larger story to told here.

Since Moon square Chiron implies some basic difficulties either expressing your deepest emotional needs, or finding someone or something to satisfy them, my question to you is this, SA:

How has your love life been so far, this lifetime?
