The 80-year-old author and senior pastor of Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, Texas, was recently diagnosed with COVID-19.

The announcement was made during a live-streamed service by his son, Pastor Matt Hagee, giving more detail about his father’s prognosis, Christian Headlines reports.

Hagee’s son shared that his doctors were able to identify the virus early. His father is “feeling well enough to be frustrated with everybody in a white coat and a stethoscope.”

“He wanted me to tell you that he covets your prayers and that he asks you to pray for him daily, not only that he makes a speedy recovery but that he looks forward to seeing you again at Cornerstone very soon,” his son added.

Hagee’s son asked for prayers for his father and for others who were battling the virus.

“As it is a reality in our lives, we also have a promise that we serve a God who is a Healer,” Hagee said.

John and Matt successfully filed a lawsuit back in July against the local government’s restriction on in-person classes, as the family wanted to start classes back up in August, The Christian Post reported.

“Plaintiffs hold a sincere religious belief and seek to educate, and have their children educated, through the in-person instruction of Plaintiffs’ religious, educational institution to further those sincere beliefs,” the lawsuit asserted.

John Hagee has been a fervent advocate of End Times theology and believed COVID-19 was a sign of what’s to come.

At the beginning of the year, Hagee shared a message that described the coronavirus as a “dress rehearsal for the new world order.”

“Our economy sunk to the worst since the Great Depression, as we watched power-hungry dictators trample our freedoms in an extended crisis intended to crush the hope of the people. Make no mistake … the Great Tribulation is coming, and it will be worse,” Hagee said.

We will continue to pray for Pastor Hagee and his family during this time.
