Last week, President Donald Trump announced that he and the First Lady had been diagnosed with the novel coronavirus. He was quickly admitted to the hospital on Friday after not feeling so well, but is now showing great signs of recovery.

In a video post, Trump told his supporters that he is feeling “much better now”.

“We’re working hard to get me all the way back, I have to be back because we still have to make America great again,” he said from the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, where he was expected to spend a “few days”.

“I’ll be back, I think I’ll be back soon and I look forward to finishing up the campaign the way we started and the way we’ve been doing and the kind of numbers we’ve been doing, we’ve been so proud of it.”

The White House released a memo from Trump’s physician over the weekend stating the president had completed his second dose of the drug Remdesivir, was free of a fever and was not on supplemental oxygen. They remain “cautiously optimistic”.

In Trump’s video, he praised the treatment he has been receiving, calling them a blessing from the Lord.

“If you look at the therapeutics, which I’m taking right now, some of them, and others are coming out soon that are looking like, frankly, they’re miracles, if you want to know the truth. They’re miracles. People criticize me when I say that, but we have things happening that look like they’re miracles coming down from God, so I just want to tell you that I’m starting to feel good.”

Trump ended the video by thanking the outpouring support from all Americans and politicians, despite which side of the political spectrum they are on.
