As one of the richest natural food sources of potassium, bananas can help protect you against heart diseases as well as stroke.

Besides potassium, bananas are also great sources of vitamin B6 and C, riboflavin, magnesium, biotin, silicon, and phosphorus. Bananas also contain trace amounts of minerals such as copper, chromium, iron, fluoride, manganese, selenium and zinc.

Some people have used bananas to improve their children’s bowel movements and prevent constipation, while others have used bananas to help their children recover from diarrhea.
