Ivanka Trump is an American businesswoman and former White House adviser. She is the second child of Donald Trump and his first wife, Ivana Trump. During her father’s first presidential administration from 2017 to 2021, she served as a senior adviser in the White House.

Ivanka Trump was born Ivana Marie Trump on October 30, 1981, in Manhattan, New York City. She attended the Chapin School in Manhattan before transferring to Choate Rosemary Hall, a private boarding school in Connecticut. After briefly attending Georgetown University, she transferred to the University of Pennsylvania, where she graduated in 2004 with a degree in economics from the Wharton School.

Before entering the business world full time, Trump worked briefly as a fashion model, appearing in campaigns and magazine features during her teenage years. However, she ultimately chose to focus on business and real estate. After college, she joined the Trump Organization, becoming an executive vice president involved in hotel developments, luxury properties, and branding initiatives tied to the family business.

Ivanka also became widely known through television. She appeared alongside her father on the NBC reality series The Apprentice and later on The Celebrity Apprentice, serving as one of the show’s boardroom advisers. In 2007, she launched the Ivanka Trump fashion and lifestyle brand, which included jewelry, handbags, shoes, clothing, and fragrances. Ivanka played a major role in her father’s 2016 presidential campaign and later served as a senior adviser in the White House from 2017 to 2021. Although unpaid, she became one of the administration’s most visible figures, focusing on issues such as workforce development, paid family leave, women’s economic empowerment, and vocational education. She frequently represented the administration at international events and meetings with world leaders.

During her years in Washington, she worked closely with her husband, Jared Kushner, who also served as a senior adviser to President Trump. The couple became influential figures within the administration and often appeared together during diplomatic trips and policy initiatives.

Ivanka married Kushner, a real estate developer and investor, on October 25, 2009. The two first met through mutual business connections and briefly separated because of religious differences before reconciling. They have three children together: Arabella Rose, Joseph Frederick, and Theodore James. The family has largely maintained a private home life despite years of intense public attention.

After leaving Washington in 2021, Ivanka and her family relocated to Florida. In recent years, she has stepped back from active political involvement, focusing more on family life, philanthropy, and business interests.

Ivanka Trump's Religious Beliefs

Although Ivanka Trump was raised with a Christian background, she converted to Judaism in 2009 before marrying Jared Kushner, who comes from a Modern Orthodox Jewish family. Her conversion reportedly involved extensive religious study under Rabbi Haskel Lookstein in New York and included learning Jewish law, traditions, and observance practices.

Following her conversion, Ivanka adopted the Hebrew name “Yael.” She and Kushner actively practice Orthodox Judaism and have spoken publicly about observing Jewish traditions in their home. The family keeps kosher and observes the Jewish Sabbath, or Shabbat, from Friday evening to Saturday evening. During that time, they disconnect from technology and focus on worship, rest, and family life.
