Brice Turang has become one of Major League Baseball (MLB)’s most exciting young players. As the Milwaukee Brewers’ second baseman, he has earned praise for his defense, speed, and steady growth at the plate. Beyond his play on the field, many fans also want to know the values that guide his life. Turang has spoken about the importance of his Christian faith, and he often credits his family for his success.

Brice Turang was born on Nov. 21, 1999, in Corona, Calif. He attended Santiago High School, where he quickly became one of the nation’s top baseball prospects, and at 15, he won USA Baseball’s Dick Case Award. Although he committed to Louisiana State University, the Milwaukee Brewers selected him with the 21st overall pick in the first round of the 2018 MLB Draft. He chose to begin his professional career rather than play college baseball.

Turang moved steadily through the Brewers’ minor league system and made his Major League debut on March 30, 2023. A few days later, in the Brewers’ home opener, he hit a grand slam for his first career home run. From there, his defensive ability quickly stood out. In 2024, he won the National League Gold Glove Award and the National League Platinum Glove Award, earning recognition as one of the league’s best defensive second basemen.

As his career progressed, Turang also improved offensively. In 2026, he set career highs with 21 home runs, 100 RBIs, 102 runs, and an .816 OPS in 151 games, and he was named a National League Gold Glove finalist at second base. He also won a silver medal with Team USA at the 2026 World Baseball Classic. He has also been a key player in the Brewers’ run to the 2026 World Series, including a home run off Los Angeles Dodgers ace Tarik Skubal in Game 1 of the National League Championship Series.

Turang grew up in a family of athletes in Corona. His father, Brian Turang, played in the major leagues with the Seattle Mariners in 1993 and 1994. His mother, Carrie, played softball at Long Beach State and competed in the Women’s College World Series. He also has four older sisters, Brianna, Carissa, Cabria, and Bailee, who all played collegiate sports. Turang has often credited his family. Speaking about his parents, he said, “I definitely wouldn’t be here without either of my parents.” He has also said his sisters shaped his path, telling USA Today he is not sure what he would be doing without them.

Brice Turang’s Religious Beliefs

Turang has spoken openly about his Christian faith. In a 2026 spring training interview with Milwaukee’s CBS 58, he said he hopes to reach at least one teammate and that this is part of why he is there. He added that faith is very important to him and that there is “more to life than this game.” The station described him as a selfless teammate grounded in his Christian faith.

His personal social media profile also reflects his beliefs. His X bio lists Psalm 37:5, which reads, “Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act” (ESV).
