For a man who claims not to be religious, Dave Navarro is very well-versed in scripture and the Bible. He embraces spirituality and introspection, though some of this may be attributed to the self-reflection he invoked to overcome his lengthy battle with addiction.
Navarro's experiences with bands like Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jane's Addiction, The Panic Channel, and his more recent solo career, have put him at the forefront of the music scene - though he has yet to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, a rather touchy subject for some.
He publicly acknowledges he was supposed to be with his mother on the night she was tragically murdered by her old boyfriend, but doesn't discuss any other circumstances, including if this influences his music or impacted his drug addiction or alcoholism.
In recent years, he has expanded his interests to include Celebrity Poker and some reality television shows, like the Rock Star series, helping INXS find a new lead singer, and Supernova, a newly-formed band including former members of Metallica, Motley Crue and Guns N' Roses. He has current projects all over the place, and is still a very respected talent in the music industry.
