Rush Limbaugh was born in 1951 in Cape Girardeau Missouri to a family filled with attorneys. Limbaugh had an early start in the broadcasting industry. At the age of 16 , he worked as a disc jockey for a hometown radio station. Limbaugh is credited for being the voice behind “The Rush Limbaugh Show,” which aired for the first time in 1988. Through the broadcast , he became widely known for his ultraconservative political commentary and often controversial views. The radio show swiftly became the most popular talk show on radio, where it reached millions of viewers weekly. On February 3, 2020, Limbaugh revealed to his radio audience that he was diagnosed with an advanced stage of lung cancer. After 31 years of hosting the radio show, he stated that his intentions are to continue the nationally syndicated show despite his diagnosis.
