Lady Gaga has never been shy about religious issues. She was raised Catholic, and she still believes in God, but she openly rejects institutionalized religion. Her belief in Heaven reflects Universalist thought, as she believes that everyone will go there when they die. The belief in the power of the individual is prevalent all throughout her music, and her hope is that she is "teaching people to worship themselves."
