Kevin Kline grew up exposed to the arts, as his father was a former opera singer and owner of a record store. He trained as a classical pianist while attending Indiana University. His theatrical calling, however, rang out when he joined the University’s acting group.
He was a Julliard scholar and founded The Acting Company, touring all around the country performing classic plays and adaptations. His first big break was Sophie’s Choice opposite Meryl Streep, and roles in A Fish Called Wanda, Soapdish, and In & Out followed.
Kevin is married to Phoebe Cates.
