Sarah Hyland was born in Manhattan, New York. Both her parents were actors, and her brother, Ian Hyland, would go on to be an actor as well. Sarah has been acting since she was seven years old, and her first role was that of Howard Stern’s daughter in “Private Parts.” She is best known, however, for her long running role in “Modern Family” where she plays Haley Dunphy, the eldest daughter of the Dunphy family.
Hyland has a long history of health issues due to her kidney dysplasia. She has had 10 surgeries in order to deal with her health but struggles to maintain weight and muscle mass. There have been several times when she has been put on bed-rest but continued filming “Modern Family” simultaneously.
