• Fun Fact: Haskins nickname was Simba, taken of course from The Lion King. Haskins had an afro when he was a child and it reminded his mother of a lion's mane. 

Dwayne Haskins Jr. was a quarterback in the NFL for three seasons, most recently playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Haskins tragically passed away at the age of 24 after being struck by a dump truck in Miami Florida on April 9th, 2022. Haskins was in Miami with teammates for training at the time of his passing. In college, Haskins set records for the Big Ten Conference for single-season passing yards which earned the young star the Sammy Baugh Trophy and the Kellen Moore Award. Haskins was drafted in 2019 by the then Washington Redskins but was released in 2020. Haskins was then signed by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2021 as a backup quarterback. At the time of Haskins death he was married but the couple had no children.
