Jami Gertz was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1965. She was discovered in a nationwide talent search by Norman Lear and studied drama at NYU. Gertz served as a child actress in "Diff'rent Strokes" and had a recurring role in "The Facts of Life." She made her film debut in the 1981 romance film "Endless Love" and gained further attention by starring in "Less Than Zero" in 1987. Gertz is best known for her early films, which also include "The Lost Boys" and "Twister."
