Danny DeVito was born in Neptune Township, New Jersey, and was the third of five children. His two older siblings were both sisters. DeVito attended starting when he was 14. DeVito asked his father to send DeVito there in order to keep a young DeVito out of trouble.
DeVito began his serious acting career with “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest,” but he became known as a comic actor following his roles in “Taxi,” “Terms of Endearment” and “Romancing the Stone.” He later branched out into more dramatic roles and even transitioned into documentary, theater and voice-acting work.
