Ernest Evans, best known by his stage name Chubby Checker, is a rock & roll icon and dancer. He's known for popularizing numerous dance styles, including the twist, after he covered Hank Ballard & The Midnighters' song "The Twist." Checker also popularized the pony dance style with a 1961 cover of "Pony Time." Checker can also be credited for popularizing the song "Limbo Rock" and the limbo dance and other dances like the fly.
