Mel Brooks is a beloved actor, comedian and filmmaker. Brooks has an impressive career spanning over seven decades, and was one of the most successful filmmakers in the 1970s. Mel has kept families laughing for generations with films like Blazing Saddles, Space Balls, Robin Hood: Men In Tights, and Young Frankenstein. Brooks is one of the very few in Hollywood that won an Oscar, a Tony, and an Emmy. In 2009, Brooks was a recipient of the 2009 Kennedy Center Honors with four other recipients. In the following year he was inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Brooks used his prosthetic finger so fans will notice his concrete handprints includes six-fingers on his left hand. Before breaking comedic barriers, Brooks served as a corporal in the military after he was drafted into the United States Army in 1944. He is one of the world's funniest human beings.
