American actor Malachi Daniel Barton is a hardworking teenager born on March 10, 2007, who began his acting career in 2014. He is best known for his extensive work in Disney television and music productions, films, and other programs. He also holds two Guinness World Records, but more about Guinness shortly.

Barton's breakout role was as Beast Diaz in the Disney Channel's Stuck in the Middle, which ran from 2016 to 2018. The young actor played a mischievous twin known for his wild escapades, the second-youngest of seven children in a chaotic household. He received a Young Entertainer Award for Best Supporting Young Actor - Television in 2018 and was nominated in the same category in 2017.

The actor identifies as Native American, Hispanic and American.

He was also featured as Colby Madden in The Villains of Valley View, which ran from 2022-2023; as well as roles in the family/jungle adventure Dora and the Lost City of Gold and Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires.

Barton played young Diego in the 2019 live-action film Dora and the Lost City of Gold and provided the voice for Lionel in the Disney Jr. animated show Fancy Nancy. He also voiced the character of Leo in Elena of Avalor and appeared in Bunk'd and Just Roll with It. In addition, he played a vampire named Victor in the fantasy/teen musical Descendants, participated in the Descendants/Zombies: Worlds Collide Tour, and appeared in the music video for Snow Angels.

In August 2025, Barton was cast as Jake in the Disney+ and Disney Channel series Coven Academy, which is scheduled for release in 2026. And in September 2025, he was cast as Fletch in Camp Rock 3, which will be released in summer 2026 on Disney+ and the Disney Channel. The Jonas Brothers will return as executive producers, along with Demi Lovato, and the original band, Connect 3, will also return.

Barton is the only child of Felicia and Loren Barton, who are devout Christians. His mother is a singer-songwriter who appeared on American Idol in January 2009, and his father is a guitarist and tour manager.

The Bartons are devout Christians. They originally lived in Virginia Beach, VA, but moved to Los Angeles in 2013 to support Malachi's budding acting career. He is especially private about his dating life, and despite rumors to the contrary, two of his co-stars -- Ariana Greenblatt and Freya Skye -- have denied dating him.

The teen has said little about his private life other than to share his Christian faith through interviews, podcasts, social media and business endeavors such as his clothing line called J1:9. The name refers to the Old Testament book of Joshua, chapter 1, verse 9, which says, Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. As for the Guinness World Records, Barton and his Stuck in the Middle co-stars, Ariana Greenblatt and Nicolas Bechtel, have broken two records. One is for the "Most Pencils Pierced through a Water-filled Bag in a Minute," and the other is for "Most Marshmallows Caught in the Mouth with a Homemade Catapult in One Minute," according to the Disney Channel.
