Lilakoi Moon, formally known as Lisa Bonet, is an American activist and actress. Bonet’s acting career took off with her starring role on “The Cosby Show” as Denise Huxtable, the carefree daughter of Bill Cosby’s character. She also reprised her role as Denise in the spin-off “A Different World,” where her character goes to college at an HBCU.

On Nov. 16, 1967, Bonet was born in San Francisco, CA. Her mother, Arlene Joyce Litman, was a music instructor from Pennsylvania. She was of Ashkenazi Jewish family origin. Her father, Allen Bonet, was an opera singer from Texas. His ethnic background was African American. Her parents raised the young Bonet in the Jewish faith, but she doesn’t practice as much currently.

Her first husband, musician Lenny Kravitz, is also of Jewish and African American heritage.
