Emily Blunt is an actress who has accumulated several accolades during her career, including a Screen Actors Guild Award and a Golden Globe, in addition to nominations for three British Academy Film Awards. In 2020, Forbes ranked her as one of the highest-paid actresses in the world. Blunt made her acting debut in the 2001 "The Royal Family" production and played Catherine Howard in the TV miniseries "Henry VIII."

She made her feature film debut in 2004's "My Summer of Love." However, her breakthrough role came in 2006 with her starring roles in "The Devil Wears Prada" and the TV movie "Gideon's Daughter." Her portfolio continued to grow with roles in the period film "The Young Victoria," "Salmon Fishing in Yemen," "The Adjustment Bureau," "Edge of Tomorrow," and "Into the Woods." Blunt received critical acclaim for her role in films like "Sicario,” "The Girl on the Train," and "A Quiet Place."

She won a SAG Award for Best Supporting Actress for "A Quiet Place." She's since starred in the sequels "Mary Poppins Returns" and "A Quiet Place Part II,” "Jungle Cruise," and "The English." Most recently, she played Katherine Oppenheimer in Christopher Nolan's "Oppenheimer." Emily Olivia Laura Blunt was born in 1983 in the London Borough of Wandsworth. She's the second of four children born to Joanna and Oliver Blunt. From the age of seven, until she was 14, Blunt had challenges with stuttering.

She credits a school teacher for helping her manage her stutter through acting. She went on to sit on the board of directors for the American Institute for Stuttering. Blunt attended Ibstock Place School in southwest London. When she was 16, she attended Hurtwood House, a private sixth-form college known for its performing arts program. There, an agent discovered and signed her.

Is Emily Blunt religious?

Emily Blunt grew up in a Christian home but no longer seems religious. In an interview, she said, "I would say that I'm Christian, but I wouldn't say that I'm particularly religious in any way. I think that the people that I met on the movie, and they were real born-again Christians, seemed very sorted as if God had dropped in their laps and suddenly everything was fine. I don't know what I feel about that."
