Needing God

Have you ever thought about how crazy this world has become? What can we do about it? We can imitators of Christ and let Him live and work through us.

Big Daddy Weave is an awesome Christian artist. His songs are very powerful and make great points. They are eye opening. His song “What Life Would Be Like” describes his thinking about how different this world and our lives would be if we just let Jesus into our hearts, minds and souls. He asks the question, what would like if we let Jesus live through you and me?

1st verse: “I wish I was more of a man, have you ever felt that way?

And if I had to tell you the truth I’m afraid I’d have to say. That after all I’ve done and failed to do. I feel like less than I was meant to be. What if I could fix myself maybe then I could get free. I could try to be somebody else who’s much better off than me. But I need to remember this. That it’s when I’m at my weakest I can clearly see. Chorus: He made the lame walk and the dumb talk. And He opened blinded eyes to see. That the sun rises on His time. Yet He knows our deepest desperate need. And the world waits while His heart aches. To realize the dream. I wonder what life would be like if we let Jesus live through you and me. This verse asks the question- what if there is more to life? What if we are missing our chance to be people that are better off in life? What if we could actually fix ourselves and be set free from ourselves? Could we set ourselves free? The answer is no. We can’t set ourselves free. Only God can set us free through His son Jesus Christ.

We have to remember that it is when we are at our lowest and weakest that we can finally see the truth about how amazing God is. Then it talks about the miracles Jesus preformed while He was on Earth- He made the lame walk and the dumb talk. He even gave those who were blind the eyes to see. This song says He gave the open blinded eyes to see. This means that some people are spiritually and emotionally and mentally blind, not physically blind. The sun rises on His time and that He knows everything about us and even our darkest secrets and deepest need. The world waits while His heart aches to realize the dream of knowing each and every one of His children on a deep personal level. Then he poses the question-what life would be like if we let Jesus live through each one of us?

2nd verse: What if you could see yourself through another pair of eyes? What if you could hear the truth instead of old familiar lies. And what if you could feel inside the power of the hand, that made the universe, you’d realize. Chorus: He made the lame walk and the dumb talk. And He opened blinded eyes to see. That the sun rises on His time. Yet He knows our deepest desperate need. And the world waits while His heart aches. To realize the dream. I wonder what life would be like if we let Jesus live through you and me, yeah, yeah.

What if you could see yourself through God’s eyes and not the worlds eyes? What if you could and did hear the full truth of God’s word and the work that He can, will and is doing in your life? Instead of hearing the lies of the world and the lies that Satan has you believe? What if you could feel the power of the Holy Spirit in your own life and in your mind, soul and body? What if you could feel God’s power in your life. He is the God who made the universe. Once God gets a hold of you, you know its Him.

Bridge: All our hearts they burn within us. All our lives we’ve longed for more. So, let us lay our lives before the one who gave His life for us. Our hearts burn within us all the time for something more in life. We can lay our lives before the cross and worship the one who gave His life for us.

Chorus: He made the lame walk and the dumb talk. He opened blinded eyes to see. That the sun rises on His time. Yet He knows our deepest desperate need. And the world waits while His heart aches. To realize the dream. I wonder what life would be like if we let Jesus live through you and me, yeah, yeah. Let him live through you and me, yeah, say yeah, yeah.

If we let Jesus live through you and me, this world would change dramatically. We would love each other more, call each other equal and love the way God loves us. We would sacrifice things for others and defend our country and fellow man. Becoming Christ’s imitators isn’t easy, but through God’s awesome power, He will make His love known through those who believe in Him.
