three birds with one stone. Burn calories, lose weight, and live clean!
This morning, as I gather my ‘stuff’ (camera, gift for mom, healthy snacks) to head off into the sunrise to visit my 94 year-young mother, I am reminded of this video that I shot 2 short years ago. Not much has changed. My mother still sits in her apartment, doing her solo act. She did finally stop driving herself to and fro the supermarket this past year. She said it was like having a limb chopped off, but she felt it necessary. Her reflexes aren’t exactly what they used to be, and she certainly didn’t want to put anyone else in danger. Brava that she came to this conclusion on her own!
From the Our Lady of Weight Loss kitchens … here follows two of my best Our Lady of Weight Loss approved Cinco de Mayo recipes. A bit tweaked, but still celebratory! Enjoy!!!

Last night, Siobhan Magnus was voted off American Idol. One of the things I like most about Siobhan is her authenticity, her level of comfort with herself. As Oscar Wilde said, “Be yourself. Everyone else is already taken.” And Sioban did just that! I’m hoping we will see more of her!

I was talking to one of my star weight loss clients (you are all stars), who has permanently lost over 35 pound. Yes, JB is thrilled about that, but she is still having difficulty loving herself, because she’s kind of down on her thighs. They are not perfect thighs. They are not stick thin thighs like you see in the magazines; they are not air-brushed thighs. After an interesting conversation that was filled with aha moments, I decided to share a few tips on how to love yourself, love your thighs.

I’m not sure how “No Housework Day” originated or when it was first celebrated. I am imagining that a woman who was tired of her daily chores, tired of the dust reappearing, that a woman who was more than likely being taken for granted threw her arms up in the air, took in a deep breath and proclaimed …
Kelly Osbourne danced away 42 pounds last season. Jennie Garth, Mya , Mel B. from the Spice Girls, Jane Seymour, Lisa Rina and Marie Osmond (while on Nutrisystems) toned their arms, lifted their butts, and dropped at least 100 pounds (combined total). Niecy Nash, however, star of “Reno 911″ is dedicating her dance performance to “thick girls everywhere.” And instead shedding tears for love.
