Idol Chatter

Idol Chatter

The My Run DVD Giveaway

Terry Hitchcock ran 75 consecutive miles in 75 days. The 57-year-old-man weathered fractured joints and chest pains all the way from Minneapolis to Atlanta– all to call attention to the plight of single parents and be an inspiration to his family, himself and everyone he met along the way.

Beliefnet interviewed Hitchcock about his courageous journey in the recent article My Run: Terry Hitchcock and the Faith to Endure.

This amazing feat of determination was captured in the DVD documentary My Run. We are giving away five copies to five lucky readers of Idol Chatter.

To enter, leave a comment below with your name and valid email address (used only to contact the winners). U.S. and Canadian readers only. We’ll pick the winners at random on Friday, October 7 and announce them here on Idol Chatter on Monday, October  10.

How remarkable to do something so amazing to make us realize how hard it is to be a single parent. We never know what they go through if you haven’t been in that situation.

  • http://AddaURLtothiscomment Lynn Baumgartner

I use to hate to run but it really looks good on my but. Now I just really am bored with it. No matter what I do the thought is just not getting my body out of bed like a cup of coffee does. I would like to say I really enjoy running.

  • http://AddaURLtothiscomment Susan

I am a runner and find this movie an inspiration to me as a runner and as someone who has lost someone so close to me,my father and how running really can help heal you!

  • http://AddaURLtothiscomment Melanie

I love this story. I am a runner and it is such an inspiration to watch a normal (meaning not a great, talented 5 minute miler)run such great distances. It truly keeps us slowpokes running towards the finish line.

  • http://AddaURLtothiscomment John Leisenring

This is a truly inspirational story that I would like to know more about!

  • http://AddaURLtothiscomment Teri M

It’s great to know about more examples of fathers who would go to such extremes for their children. Single parenthood often focuses on the mothers, and I believe its good to have stories from both sides made public.

  • http://AddaURLtothiscomment Patricia

What a fantastic thing for someone to do to bring attention to the joy and challenges of being a single parent!

  • http://AddaURLtothiscomment Heather

With a mixture of faith, courage and a strong ingredient of determination, this man was able to bring attention to a very important cause and in the process teach others a lesson in a great run.

  • http://AddaURLtothiscomment Ronald

Inspirational stories always are entertaining but sometimes so dramatic that they seem hard to believe! But I know they are true so thats what makes them so good!

  • http://AddaURLtothiscomment Beth

I was reading about Terry the other day and I was so inspired and amazed at his determination and drive! He’s an amazing man and I’d love to meet him one day.

  • http://AddaURLtothiscomment Pat

Mr. Hitchcock is a man of courage who is to be admired. We need to hear of more stories of people like this man.

  • http://AddaURLtothiscomment Kmomma

I love this film, it’s an amazing story. I purchased this DVD a few weeks ago and I was taken away by the honesty and sincerity of Terry and his story. I had my kids watch this film (10 & 15) then we discussed the issues and obstacles that were highlighted in the film, which turned out to be very powerful night of discussion.
