Meryl Streep began her career in the late 1960s appearing on Broadway and went on to be one of the greatest actresses of all time. She attended Vassar College and Yale Drama School. Some of her most well known films include, The Devil Wears Prada, Doubt, and The Iron Lady. As of 2015, she has received 19 Academy Award acting nominations, which is an industry record. She is also 1 of only 6 actors who have won 3 or more competitive academy awards for acting, along with other famous actors including Katharine Hepburn, Walter Brennan, and Jack Nicholson.

Streep has been married to sculptor Don Gummer since 1978 and they have 4 children together. One her daughters, Mamie Grammer, is also pursuing an acting career. She is the spokesperson for the National Women’s History Museum and even donated her $1 million earnings for The Iron Lady. Streep has often expressed an interest in music and has stated that she grew up listening to artists such Barbara Streisand, The Beatles, and Bob Dylan and she learned a lot about how to use her voice by listening to their albums.
