Pierce Brosnan was best known for his recurring role as the famous British spy James Bond following in the footsteps of Sean Connery and Roger Moore. After playing in 4 of the James Bond films, actor Daniel Craig took over the part in 2006. Brosnan has also played in The Thomas Crown Affair, Laws of Attraction, and Mrs. Doubtfire.

Brosnan was born in Ireland and moved to London then Los Angeles where he was featured as the lead detective in the series, Remington Steele, in 1982. He married actress Cassandra Harris from 1980 until her death in 1991. The two had one son together and after her death Brosnan adopted her two children from a previous marriage. In 2001, he married Keely Shaye and they also have 2 children together. Brosnan has been chosen by People Magazine as one of the “50 Most Beautiful People in the World” and one of the “Sexiest Men Alive.”

Brosnan vocally supports same sex marriage and raises money for charities through the sale of his paintings. He was trained early as an artist and spent a lot of time painting when he was taking care of his first wife during her terminal illness. His paintings are now given to a trust to benefit “environmental, children’s and women’s health charities.” He also owns a house on the Hawaiian island of Kauai and donated money to help replace a playground there in 2007.
