  • 1 pound margarine (do not use butter)
  • 1 pound New York sharp cheddar cheese, grated
  • 4 cups flour
  • Salt to taste
  • Cayenne to taste
  • Pecan halves

Cream margarine.  Add grated cheese and blend well.  Add flour, salt and cayenne.  Roll into 1-inch balls.  Press pecan half on top of each.  Refrigerate overnight before baking.  Bake at 250 degrees approximately 60 minutes or until light brown and crisp.  Freezes well.

YIELDS: 10 - 12 dozen
