All-purpose Cleaner
A great multi-surface, all-purpose cleaner is one of the essential cleaning products you can own. All-purpose cleaners effectively take care of grease, dirt, and stains, and most don't require much more than a spray and a wipe. The best thing about all-purpose cleaners is that you can use them in any part of the house, whether it's the kitchen or the bathroom. The next time you want to tackle a mess, pick up your favorite all-purpose cleaner, and the stain will be gone in a flash.
Glass/mirror Cleaner
Glass and mirrors are easy to clean, providing you have the right product to hand. A good glass and mirror cleaner will remove grime and marks without leaving smears or stickiness. You can also make your glass cleaner if you take an all-natural route. Make your glass cleaner by mixing 1/2 cup rubbing alcohol, 1/3 cup white vinegar, water, and a few drops of essential oils in a spray bottle. You can also use glass cleaner for other purposes; many people use it to remove price tag stickers from products.
Disinfectant
For truly germ-filled areas, nothing is going to do as good a job as disinfectants, which are purpose-made to kill germs and bacteria, preventing illness and sickness amongst your family. Always have a disinfectant in your home cleaning kit for tackling kitchen surfaces you've cut meat on in the kitchen or wiping around the toilet seat. Disinfectants can be especially handy when you have a sick person in the house. By covering everything in disinfectant, you can ensure that no one else in the house gets sick or reduce the germs on high-traffic surfaces.
Furniture Polish
Most modern-day cleaning kits don't include furniture polish, but yours should always have one. Not only do furniture polishes smell lovely, but they do bring up wooden furniture, unlike any other product. They'll reduce water-marks and add a sparkle and shine to even the dullest of wood, making your wood furniture look like the day you bought it. Furniture polish is also good to keep off any dust that may pile up on your wood furnishings. Polishing your furniture should be a part of your weekly cleaning routine.
Bleach
Another cleaning product every kit should have is bleach or hydrogen peroxide. Due to its highly abrasive nature, it would be best not to use bleach every day. However, it is beneficial for some everyday cleaning tasks, like cleaning the grout between tiles. The results are excellent and a testament to why bleach is an essential product to have on hand. Some people like to put bleach in their dishwashing liquid to give their dishes an extra sparkle.
A Toothbrush
An old toothbrush, or even several, is essential in every household cleaning kit. Toothbrushes are unrivaled, not only for the obvious tasks like scrubbing sink taps, but they're also great for getting into drinks holders in cars, grout, and much more. Toothbrushes allow you to get into those nooks and crannies that you may miss with a regular brush or sponge. Next time you're throwing your old one out, pop it into your cleaning kit instead. It will definitely come in handy.
Microfiber Cloths
It would be best to have a few generic cleaning cloths in your kit, as you never know when they might come in handy. They're ideal for use alongside multi-purpose cleaners or disinfectants for wiping down kitchen counters, the outside of your bathtub, and more. Just be sure to clean them periodically. Otherwise, they'll spread germs and dirt, hampering your cleaning efforts. Microfiber is exceptionally effective at picking up dust and other debris, making these cloths useful for dusting. Additionally, the fibers are much more refined than cotton cloths, enabling you to get deeper into crevices and providing additional abrasion for removing marks and built-up dust/grime.
