Live in the Present
Over 8.3 million American adults suffer from anxiety, the Psychiatric Journal reported. With all of the uncertainty in the world, people are not only feeling the pressure in their personal lives but are concerned about the future of the nation. Author Karen Young explained that we need to toss worry aside and remain in the now present. "Stay with what is actually happening, rather than what might happen. If this feels uncomfortable, put a time limit on it, let’s say, 2 minutes to start with." Jesus knew that we were going to have stress. He told us to let go of these anxieties and to remain in the present. He said: "Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Jesus' acumen helps us in the world today as it did for the earlier believers.
