James “Jim” Troesh joined Highway to Heaven as Scotty Wilson, a quadriplegic attorney who became a recurring character on the show.
Troesh’s story stood out both on and off screen. He became quadriplegic after a teenage accident and went on to build a Hollywood career when there were far fewer opportunities for performers with disabilities.
After the show, Troesh kept working in entertainment. He acted in Boston Legal, The Hollywood Quad, and Notes from Underground. He also wrote for projects like Color of the Cross and The Hollywood Quad.
Besides acting and writing, Troesh also became an advocate for performers with disabilities.
